Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
linker.tools is a simple tool with no user accounts. This policy explains what happens to information when you create, share, view, or click a linker.tools link. The Service is operated by x.com/boppleton.
What we collect from visitors
We don't use cookies or run analytics. We don't show third-party ads or use tracking pixels. When your browser or a platform's crawler requests a page from the Service, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., automatically processes standard request information such as your IP address, browser user agent, the time of the request, and the URL requested (which includes the link being embedded). This is necessary to deliver the page and protect the Service from abuse.
Pages we fetch
To build a preview, the Service fetches the linked page and reads its public metadata, such as its title, description, and images. We use this only to generate the card and don't keep copies beyond short-lived caches.
Third-party sites and platforms
When a card plays inside a post or when you click through, your browser loads the destination page directly from its own servers. That site, and the platform where you saw the post (such as X), may collect information under their own privacy policies. We don't control and aren't responsible for their practices.
How we use information
Only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, respond to abuse reports, and meet legal obligations. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe, working service.
Sharing
We don't sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. We disclose information only to service providers that help run the Service (Cloudflare for hosting), or when required by law or needed to protect the rights and safety of users or others.
Retention
We don't keep request logs: logging is turned off for the Service. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may keep limited records of requests under its own policies to run and secure its network. Nothing is used to build profiles of anyone.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Visitors aren't tied to identities, so we may not be able to find data about you, but contact us and we'll help where we can. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children
The Service isn't directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
International processing
The Service runs on Cloudflare's global network, so information may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States.
Changes
We'll post any updates here and change the effective date above.
